LCSW-R (licensed clinical social worker)
Certified TriYoga Instructor

TriYoga is a flowing yoga of asana, pranayama, and mudra, (posture, breath, focus) founded by Yogini Kali Ray. It enhances the flow of life-energy and expanded awareness, bringing knowledge of Self and greater health and vitality.

My first encounter with TriYoga was in 2004, when a friend invited me to take a yoga class with her favorite teacher at Gold’s Gym. I was working hard to follow the class and I almost fell over many times, craning my head to see what the other students were up to. Then my awareness expanded and I heard childlike laughter in my mind, and then an inner voice told me to relax…that I was home. It was startling and yet so natural at the same time. I approached the teacher after class to ask her what type of yoga we were doing. It was the first time I had heard of Kali Ray TriYoga.

With my busy life, work, and family, it took me two weeks to get back to class but during those two weeks I had a vision of a pulsating blue lotus flower which “told me” that I already knew all of this, and that I was “home”. With this knowledge came total body relaxation.

I met Yogini Kaliji (Kali Ray) March 7, 2004 at one of her workshops. She explained that it is an ancient yoga and what was emerging was my natural experience. My personal TriYoga practice brings me abundant grace, health, and a door to the cosmic dimension of my humanity. Teaching TriYoga brings me immense joy, witnessing students come to their own “home” of inner peace & knowledge of the Self.

I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. For over 23 years I’ve helped individuals relieve anxiety, depression, and symptoms of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), aimed at a psycho-spiritual transformation. As a TriYoga Instructor I wed the Eastern tradition of hatha yoga and meditation into my Western psychotherapy approach, working towards a total transformation of the human soul…an expansion into one’s full potential and happiness.

I am active as an actress and director in community theater. In 2010 I won Best Director award at the Northport One Act Play Festival. In Fall 2011 I played Marty in Circle, Mirror, Transformation by Annie Baker at the Barebones Theater in Northport. What I love about live theater is its ability to bring healing and communion to the individual and society through self expression, storytelling, and the collective exchange between actors and audience. I believe that creativity and imagination are our birthright as human beings. In creating community via yoga and theater I experience much joy in witnessing the love of life that emerges from all of us in supporting one another in play.
